Selected as Finalist fo Metro Art Neighborhood Posters

Los Angeles, California, – April 10, 2006 – Charlie Grosso has been selected to be as a finalist for LA County Transit Authority’s 2006 Metro Art Neighborhood Posters.

She was one of the 9 finalists out of hundreds of local artists. Grosso was assigned the East Village of Long Beach and tasked with the challenge of creating a piece of art that would represent the spirit of the East Village Community.

“I went down to East Village, Long Beach and spent sometime there on several different occasions to get a grasp of the place. What strike me the most on all the visits is the there is no one unifying voice for this community.
The East Village is unique because it is so diverse, both in its residents and in its architectures. I wanted to create a poster that would exemplify that.”
