Charlie Grosso’s recent album cover photography for “Affected” has been receiving great reviews by the European Press.  “Affected” is a new project by former Prick, Kidneythieves, and Zeromancer guitarist, Chris Schleyer. Drummers Garret Hammond (Prick, Kill Hannah), and Andrew Kubiszewski (Prick, Stabbing Westward) also contributed to the new album.

Earlier this spring, Charlie Grosso shot the album cover and related art for “Greed, Lust and Cloning”, the musical score for a non-existent movie. The resulting album has garnered critical acclaim, both for the orchestral-electronic music as well as for its artwork.

Charlie worked closely with composer Don Bodin in concepting the art. “She was very involved and instrumental in helping me to convey what the album is about visualy.” Don states, “I attribute the success of the album in no small part to the visual impact of the photography.”

Variety’s sister publication LA411 – an essential production guide – has awarded Charlie Grosso with its 2006 Cover and Tab art.

She will spent 2 weeks on the road traveling in and around Los Angeles, photographing various unique locations for the 2006 edition of LA411.

Some of the locations include, Club Ed in Lancaster, Frank Sinatra’s house and the Historical Bradbury Building where Blade Runner was filmed.

This is the third collaboration Ms Grosso has done with publication and she is excited about the new project.

Los Angeles, California, – September 1, 2005 – Earlier this week, photographer Charlie Grosso was notified that photos she shot for the Variety Inc. publication, New York 411, were selected as finalists for the CEBA Awards.  The collection of photographs, created for the advertising campaign entitled “New York Street Scenes’”, is one of three finalists in the category of “Best Advertising Campaign with a budget of under $100,000.”

The campaign consists of several uniquely New York settings, buildings and locations as a focal point. Secondary in the images are posters, graffiti, building sponsorship and even a patch on a punk-rocker’s jacket all subtly branded with the “New York 411” identity.

Ms. Grosso shot the images on location in New York in February of this year.

“It was very tiring, but rewarding,” Grosso commented. “We spent 5 days, 18 hours a day, scouting and shooting simultaneously. Looking for just the right framing to capture images that would work as advertising, but have a very classical look.”
